Eric Carle’s award-winning design talent reflects a wide range of skills in the areas and project types of master planning, healthcare, higher education facilities, residential, and adaptive reuse projects. Eric has a particular interest in single-family residential architecture. His greatest strength is in the collaboration with his clients and to ultimately realize their goals, both with new buildings and with the translation of existing spaces into unique architectural solutions.
Since graduating with a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland in 1994, Eric has honed his skills with a wide variety of building and project types. Before forming Runningdog Architects, he was a senior designer with the Washington, D.C. office of Gensler, a principal and lead project designer with RTKL, and an associate with Smithgroup, also in Washington, DC. Eric has received local and national recognition for design efforts in health care, science and technology, and master planning projects.
While away from his passion in the field of architecture, Eric enjoys time with his family at the beach, summer grilling, Saturday morning’s at “Coffee and Cars”, rocking out to Bruce Springsteen and U2, and always catching Red Sox games with his wife, Allison and their two boys, Sam and Jacob.
